The Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine was established in 1910. Since then, the Department has had a long tradition of training excellent otolaryngologists who have gone into private practice and academic practices throughout the country.
The mission of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the OU College of Medicine is to advance our understanding of the disease process and to improve treatment in the disciplines of Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Speech Pathology.
As an academic clinical department we seek to accomplish this mission by:
Teaching residents, providing an environment in which every one of them can achieve his or her maximum potential.
Teaching medical students and graduate students in audiology and speech pathology.
Providing care to patients in an exemplary and analytical manner, thus setting high standards of care to be emulated by residents and students and enabling us to learn through and from the daily practice of medicine.
Pursuing knowledge and research in basic science and the clinical practice.
