Many of our neurologists specialize in treating movement disorders. They work with our neurosurgeons to provide surgical therapy for selected patients with advanced Parkinson's disease including deep-brain stimulator implants. We also have the only neurologist in the state trained in the use of Botox injections for dystonia (involuntary muscle contractions of the eyes, neck, face, voice box, or the smooth muscle in the bladder).
In addition to the services and treatments above, OU Physicians neurologists also provide evaluation and ongoing care for:
- Epilepsy
- Chronic headaches and migraines
- Stroke
- Neuromuscular disease
- Alzheimer's disease
- Dementia
- Spinal cord injuries
- Multiple sclerosis
- Brain injuries
- Huntington's disease
