The OU Children's Physicians Urology team is dedicated to helping improve your child's health and quality of life by providing comprehensive care for pediatric urological conditions. One of our urologists received international recognition when he helped pioneer urological tissue engineering to create functional bladders in children.

Commonly treated conditions include:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Bedwetting
  • Undescended testis

Several of our urologists also specialize in treating more unique or complex genitourinary conditions primarily found in infants and toddlers:

  • Bladder reconstruction
  • Genital abnormalities
  • Hernias/hydroceles
  • Kidney failure
  • Birth defects of the genitourinary system
  • Vesicoureteral reflux (condition in which urine travels backward from the bladder toward the kidney and may affect one or both ureters)

In addition to medication and conventional surgery, we also offer minimally-invasive surgical procedures for certain conditions that result in less postoperative discomfort, a shorter hospital stay and a speedier recovery for your child. For children with physical abnormalities or birth defects of the genitals, one of our pediatric urologists is also board certified in psychiatry and specializes in treating the psychological aspects associated with these conditions.
