OCTSI Navigator

Welcome to the OCTSI Research Navigator Office.

How may we assist you?

The primary function of the Research Navigator is to assist Faculty, Staff and Trainees with all aspects of clinical and translational research.

Specifically, we:

1) Provide a single point of access to the OCTSI for trainees, residents, new faculty members, and established clinical and basic scientists interested in developing clinical and translational research activities.

2) Identify and train mentors and advisors, and create multidisciplinary research teams able to assist novice researchers in conceptualizing and transforming promising research ideas into a meaningful, feasible, and fundable research project.

3) Identify the appropriate core facilities and technologies to address research topics and connect investigators with resources, such as biostatistics, bioinformatics, tissue banking, etc. to facilitate posing and answering their scientific questions.

4) Assist researchers with recognizing and meeting administrative and regulatory requirements.

5) Assist in the process of identifying funding sources and preparing, writing, and submitting funding applications and preparing progress reports.

For assistance in any of these areas, or questions about our services, please contact either GeneHallford, Program Director, or Julie Traylor, by phone at: 271-RNAV (7628) or on campus 1-RNAV or email: gene-hallford@ouhsc.edu
