Infectious Diseases
The Infectious Diseases Section is located within the heart of theUniversity of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Campus. The Section is comprised of nationally known Faculty committed to providing the highest quality education, research, and patient care possible.
The Section consist of eight Infectious Diseases Specialists. The Faculty provide general consultative care to patients with known or suspected infectious diseases. Faculty members are board certified in Infectious Diseases and offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. From evaluation to management, we provide consultation and are available to act as attending physicians during hospitalization. We have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities in clinical microbiology, mycology and virology. Under the supervision of our physicians, patients may benefit from new anti-infective therapies through clinical research protocols.
About the Infectious Diseases Institute
The Infectious Diseases Institute is the outpatient clinical "home" for the Section. It boasts six Infectious Diseases Specialists and over 25 mid-level providers and staff.
The facility is housed within the OU Health Sciences Center complex and is surrounded by four of Oklahoma City's leading hospitals as well as a multitude of other medical specialties accessible within OU Physicians.
The Institute specializes in provision of care to persons living with HIV/AIDS and has numerous federal programs dedicated to primary care, prevention, education, and community services for the infected and affected individual.
