Requesting Medi Flight
Indications to request Medi Flight:
- Trauma Score < 12
- Glascow Coma Score < 10
- Penetrating trauma to abdomen, pelvis, chest, neck or head
- Spinal cord or spinal column injury - paralysis
- Partial or total amputation (excluding digits)
- Two or more long bone Fx or a major pelvic Fx
- Crushing injuries to abdomen, chest or head
- Major burns > 15% of BSA
- Serious trauma injuries < 12 years old or > 55 years old
- Near drowning
- MI's/CVA
- High-risk OB
- GUT FEELING
When requesting Medi Flight, please provide the following:
- Your agency and call back number
- Scene location
- Mechanism of injury/nature of call
- Number of victims and if adult or children
- Number of aircraft needed
- Communications coordinator, or person who the pilot should contact before landing and on what frequency (i.e. state fire mutual aid, etc)
