Patient E-cards
Thanks for using our patient e-card system! From here you will be able to send a greeting or get well card to a current OU Medical Center patient.
How our E-card System Works
When you send a card to a patient at OU Medical Center or The Children's Hospital at OU Medical, the Volunteer Services office in the hospital will receive and print your card. Then, a Volunteer will attempt to deliver your card to the patient's unit. Please keep in mind that E-cards are available to inpatients only and are usually delivered within 1-2 business days. Be sure to spell the patient's first and last name correctly so we can accurately identify the location of the patient in the hospital.
Points to consider:
- E-cards will be delivered Monday through Friday, 8-4PM.
- E-cards received later in the day will be delivered the following day.
- E-cards received on weekends will be delivered on the following business day.
- E-card delivery on holidays may be delayed until after the holidays.
- E-cards should not include private patient medical information.
- E-cards cannot be delivered to patients that we are unable to locate, who have been discharged, or who have requested their status as a patient not be disclosed.
- E-cards will not be forwarded to a patient after discharge.
The Volunteers at OU Medical Center and The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center and OU Medical Center Edmond will do their best to ensure that patients receive their cards as quickly as possible. However, large volumes of cards may take longer to print and deliver.
