Professional speakers, actors, singers and tracheoesophageal puncture patients can benefit from the specialized care offered by the OU Voice Disorders Center. We treat patients with any of the following symptoms:
- Prolonged hoarseness
- Voice fatigue
- Vocal breathiness
- Voice spasms
- Extended warm-up required before performing
We use unique diagnostic equipment not available anywhere else in the stateto identify the source of the voice problem and develop the most ideal treatment plan. We can also provide voice therapy.
Our physicians offer non-surgical and surgical treatments, including:
- Vocal cord microsurgery (microlaryngoscopy)
- Vocal cord injections
- Laryngeal botulinum toxin (Botox®) injections
- Medialization thyroplasty (laryngoplasty) for vocal cord paralysis and paresis
- Office based laryngeal surgery
(Most voice problems do not require surgery.)
