The Section of Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology offers a three-year ACGME accredited fellowship with training in a broad array of pediatric diabetes and endocrine disorders. Our program prepares the trainee for a career in either academic medicine or clinical practice, by providing a strong foundation in either basic or clinical research, in a rich and diverse setting of clinical care. Although we pride ourselves in the breadth of the pediatric endocrinology experience here at OU Children’s, we take special pride in our national and international expertise in clinical research, diabetes, obesity and American Indian health disparities related to pediatric endocrinology. Clinical pediatric endocrinology, clinical research methodology and the basic pathophysiology of endocrine diseases of childhood are taught during participation in didactic coursework, clinical rounds, case conferences, research seminars and mentored research projects. Upon completion of their training, fellows are eligible for board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology. Oklahoma City is an exciting and growing metropolitan area featuring many amenities, activities, and opportunities.
Sowmya Krishnan, MD is the Fellowship Program Director, and Kenneth Copeland, MD is the Associate Fellowship Program Director. Stephanie Starry is the Fellowship Program Coordinator. Please contact us if you have further questions about our training program.
