Surgery Library
The Department of Surgery maintains a surgical library, supported by the Department of Surgery and an endowed professorship with funds raised by private donations. The Department of Surgery Library provides surgical books, journals and internet access. A full-time, medical librarian, certified by the Medical Library Association, Linda R. O'Rourke, M.L.S. is in charge of the library and is available for help with literature searches, preparation of bibliographies, computer assistance, etc.
The library is available to surgery faculty and residents 24/7 and to other health professionals during the day.

The Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library serves the Health Sciences Center and health professionals across the state, providing literature searches, journal photocopying and access to the largest collection of medical books in Oklahoma. The Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library is located two blocks from The University Hospital.
