OKC Skyline

We love our city here at the OU Internal Medicine Residency Program, and we are proud to call Oklahoma City home. From feasting at one of our many great local restaurants to watching the Thunder NBA team play in the Chesapeake Arena, there are endless ways to enjoy life outside of work in OKC! Below are just a few of the reasons why our residents love OKC:

  • Low cost of living on a resident's salary
  • Other job opportunities for significant others: large health care industry, oil and energy, engineering, several nearby universities, thriving local retail
  • Minimal traffic making it easy to navigate the city. Residents can live in apartment lofts downtown or in larger homes in the suburbs of Edmond or Norman with short commutes to work
  • The THUNDER!!!! Russell Westbrook = hero
  • Food Festivals and Local Restaurants galore: First Fridays in the Paseo Art District, Second Fridays with Live on the Plaza (http://www.plazadistrict.org/live/), H&8th Food Truck Festival (http://www.h8thokc.com)
  • Other local attractions: Myriad Botanical Gardens, Oklahoma City Zoo, nearby lakes and parks with trails, Oklahoma City Art Museum, Oklahoma City Theater

Other recent Accolades in 2016:
