Academic Advising

Any student experiencing academic difficulty should reach out to the Associate Dean for Student affairs via email or by calling 405-271-2316 to arrange a meeting. Students are also encouraged to contact their Course Director early and often to receive feedback and guidance on mastering the course material.

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL)
The Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) program is a faculty guided tutoring program for our pre-clinical students. Student peers who have demonstrated strong academic and communication skills are selected to provide tutoring to self-identified students experiencing academic difficulty and requesting assistance. Needs addressed by the PAL program include comprehension of course material, study skills, time management, and test taking strategies. PAL tutors are generally selected from students in the same course or fourth-year students with interest and experience tutoring the specific course material.

Student Counseling Services
The OUHSC Student Counseling Center addresses a wide-range of common concerns that include difficulty concentrating, improving study and test taking skills, and test anxiety.
