29th Annual OU Medicine Corporate Challenge kicks off in Oklahoma City Friday, June 2

(Oklahoma City) Employees representing a variety of Oklahoma companies will compete in athletic events and raise money for charity June 2-4 at the 29th annual OU Medicine Corporate Challenge in Oklahoma City.

The three-day event, hosted and coordinated by OU Medicine, is the largest business-to-business athletic competition in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, with almost 40 different companies participating.  In addition to promoting health and fitness, the event raises money for the University of Central Oklahoma Endeavor Games in Edmond, a competition for athletes with physical disabilities.

“The Corporate Challenge provides a wonderful forum for businesses and their employees to compete against each other and raise money for a great cause,” said Brian Maddy, chief executive officer of OU Physicians. “No matter where they finish in the standings, everyone has a great time.”

Companies of all sizes participate in events ranging from track and field to basketball to tug-of-war.  The coveted OU Medicine Corporate Challenge Cup is presented to the company team that generates the greatest total of points throughout the competition.

The competitions are held at Bishop McGuinness High School and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center campus in Oklahoma City.

OU Medicine is the collaborative entity comprised of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, OU Physicians, OU Medical Center and The Children's Hospital.
