Rebecca Allen, MS, RD/LD, CDE
Rebecca is a Certified Diabetes Educator for the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.  Research interests include the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes among adolescents and youth.

Joni Beck, BC-ADM, PharmD, CDE
Dr. Beck is the Clinical Programs Director and a Clinical Associate Professor. Research interests include multidisciplinary diabetes patient management, assessing educational needs of families with diabetes and reimbursement of non-physician diabetes services.

Piers Blackett, MD
Dr. Blackett is a Clinical Professor (Retired).  He is a provider in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Lauren Bristow, BS
Lauren is an administrative assistant for the section.

Jennifer Chadwick, BS
Jennifer is the Native American Programs Coordinator for the TODAY study and the Section.

Laura Chalmers, MD
Dr. Chalmers is an Assistant Professor at OU-Tulsa and a provider in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Steven Chernausek, MD
Dr. Chernausek is the CMRI Edith Kinney Gaylord Endowed Chair, is the director of the CMRI Pediatric Metabolic Research Program, and serves as the Associate Section Chief.  He is a recent past-president of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society.  Dr. Chernausek is also a provider in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Kenneth Copeland, MD
Dr. Copeland is the Paul and Ann Milburn Endowed Chair, is the Section Chief, serves as Vice Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, and is the Associate Fellowship Program Director. His clinical research has focused on pubertal development, growth, and diabetes. He is a past-president of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society. Dr. Copeland is also a provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.  

Sarah Dawson, RN, BSN, MA
Sarah is a Pediatric Endocrinology Nurse Specialist for the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Paul Dasari, MD
Dr. Dasari is an Assistant Professor and outreach provider at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic.

David Fields, PhD
Dr. Fields is an Associate Professor and the CMRI Chickasaw Nation Endowed Chair in Pediatric Diabetes in the Pediatric Metabolic Research Program.  He completed his PhD in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University and received post-doctoral training in physiology and nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis.  The overarching focus of his research program is to understand how perinatal body composition affects future health.
 
Minu George, MD
Dr. George is an Assistant Professor and provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.  His research interests include the prevention of obesity in childhood, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2. His clinical interests include many areas of endocrinology including adrenal disorders, disorders of sexual development, and diabetes mellitus.

Dana Gissandaner, BS
Dana is a Patient Services Representative for Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.  Her background is in Community/Public Health as a Health Educator.

​Shaoning is a research fellow for the Pediatric Metabolic Research Program.

Kassidy King, RN
Kassidy is a registered nurse and clinic manager for the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Sowmya Krishnan, MD
Dr. Krishnan is an Assistant Professor, Fellowship Program Director, and provider in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic, including the Metabolic Bone Disease Clinic.  Dr. Krishnan's research interests include obesity and metabolic syndrome in children and insulin resistance in patients with type 1 diabetes.

Monica Marin, MD
Dr. Marin is a Clinical Assistant Professor and a provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.
 
Jonathan Meyer, MD
Dr. Meyer is a Pediatric Endocrine Fellow and a provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.
 
Kelle Dawn Overand, MS, APRN, CCNS-P, CDE 
Kelle is a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist providing care to children in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic. Research interest focus on strategies to reduce childhood obesity through multidisciplinary interventions and management.

Jeff Preske, MA
Jeff is the Program Coordinator for the TODAY study.  He also coordinates other research projects and maintains the section's webpages.

Kruti Shah, MD
Dr. Shah is a Pediatric Endocrine Fellow and a provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.

Kevin Short, PhD
Dr. Short is an Associate Professor and the CMRI Choctaw Nation Endowed Chair in Pediatric Endocrinology. His work is part of the Pediatric Metabolic Research Program. His research interests focus on the role of physical activity for prevention of diabetes and treating the consequences of obesity, insulin resistance, and sedentary lifestyle.

Jeanie Tryggestad, MD
Dr. Tryggestad is an Assistant Professor and provider in the outpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic.  Her research interests include obesity, type 2 diabetes (especially in Native American populations), and vascular function in obesity and type 2 diabetes.
