The Section of Diabetes/Endocrinology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking candidates with senior level research expertise in endocrinology and metabolism.  These positions may be Endowed Chairs at the level of Associate or Full Professor as an addition to a program that currently has 19 filled chairs.  The Chair will assume administrative and management responsibilities for a team of researchers, and will assist in the development, expansion, and ongoing performance of a research program in endocrinology and metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus.   Protected time and support will be provided to develop research programs with the expectation that independent extramural funding will be acquired in due time, if not already in place at the time of employment.  The section currently employs more than 45 persons, including 7 MD faculty, 2 MD fellows, 3 PhD researchers, 1 PharmD, 5 diabetes and endocrine educators, and has a budget of more than $2M.

The Department of Pediatrics is a full-service multi-specialty department with 16 sections and more than 160 faculty members.  The faculty constitutes the principle medical and research staff of the OU Children's Physicians and shares a common commitment to the well being of the state's children as well as providing a quality education to trainees.
