The T1D Exchange is a type 1 diabetes resource that combines the best aspects of traditional clinical research with the expanding fields of health information technology and social networking. A platform for collaborative data collection and sharing, the T1D Exchange is comprised of a clinic-based registry and an interactive website with mobile capabilities. The goal of the T1D Exchange is to harness the power of individuals with type 1 diabetes, clinicians and researchers in real time to advance the understanding of type 1 diabetes and identify promising new treatments and technologies for the type 1 diabetes community.  The centers in the T1D Exchange Clinic Network encompass both university- and community-based sites, urban and rural areas and a diverse population of individuals with type 1 diabetes, including adults and children with new onset disease and those who have been living with the disease for many years.

We are taking part in the clinic-based registry and enrolling interested individuals with type 1 diabetes into the T1D Exchange.  We facilitate the collection of longitudinal participant data, including clinical, biological and other real-life information through an interactive website. The data that is collected will be used to better understand type 1 diabetes and to design studies that aim to improve the care and lives of people with type 1 diabetes.
