Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Course Goals

The goal of the ACLS course is to provide the learner with:

1. Recognize and initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome.

2. Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use.

3. Manage cardiac arrest until return of spontaneous circulation, termination of resuscitation, or transfer of care.

4. Identify and treat ischemic chest pain and expedite the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes

5. Recognize other life-threatening clinical situations, such as stroke, and provide effective initial care and transfer to reduce disability and death.

6. Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance.

Course Length:

ACLS Provider Renewal course ($175.00) – This is conducted in the classroom and is an 8 hour course normally conducted in 1 day.

ACLS Provider Initial course ($245.00) – This is conducted in the classroom and is a 12-16 hour course normally conducted over 2 days.

ACLS Online with skills assessment ($255) - The online course may take between 8-12 hours to complete.  The required skills assessment is scheduled to last 1-1/2 hours.

Skills only is $95.00. This is if you have already completed PALS Online (within the past 60 days) based on the 2015 update guidelines. Email your PALS completion certificate to complete your skills assessment.

ACLS Course Enrollment

If you are enrolling in the ACLS Online Course:  Access codes will be emailed within two business days of orders placed between 8:00am-2pm CST Monday-Friday.

If order is placed on Friday after 2pm CST, access code will be emailed Monday.

You must be CPR certfied and current to complete ACLS.

Online Course with SKILLS date Option
If you are selecting this option to renew your ACLS; you will also need to select from the list of available skills dates (listed below) to complete your hands-on skills assessment.  

No eBook or Manual required for online course, all information is present. 

  1. Fee: $255

    Access codes will be emailed within two-three working days of orders placed between 8:00am-3pm CST Monday-Friday. If order is placed on Friday after 2pm CST, access code will be emailed Monday.

    This fee includes: 
    The electronic key code (that will allow you to take the online portion of the course). 
    Your in-person practice and skills assessment (that you will select from the list below).
    Upon successful completion of the course and skills assessment, an American Heart Association course completion card.  

    This course can be taken as a renewal. However, it is not recommended that the online course be taken by someone who has never taken an ACLS course.

    You must pass your skills assessment with and AHA Instructor to receive your certification. Bring your online completion certificate with you. Skills practice and testing must be completed within 60 days from the date of completion of certificate.
Please pick one of the following dates for your skills assessment. You must complete the ONLINE portion before the date that you are selecting to complete a skills assessment. ACLS skills will be at 2:00 - 4:30 PM (if also completing BLS; they will be done at this same time).

This is if you have completed the ACLS Online (in the past 60 days) at a different AHA organization (based on the 2015 update guidelines) and need to complete your skills assessment. Skills Only- (Must have current ACLS Completion Certificate) Skills assessment ONLY= $95.00.

Classroom Option

Initial Course Fee: $245 
Renewal Course Fee: $175

These courses offer both didactic and hand-on sessions. The initial course is 12 hours total (over two days), and the renewal course is 4-5 hours.  Course fees include a course manual, lunch, and upon successful completion of the course, an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard.

Optional add-on BLS Renewal:

IF YOU ALSO NEED TO RENEW YOUR BLS, we can provide you with an online "key" so that you can take the BLS online course prior to the ACLS course.  At the beginning or end of your ACLS course/appointment, you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your BLS skills to the instructor.  Upon successful completion of this skills assessment, you will be given a BLS completion eCard.  

For participants in the March 6 course, an in-person BLS course will be offered from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Recertification Fee: $40

ACLS Instructor Course
Special permission is required for registration into the instructor course.  If you have not already done so, please contact the Training Center at 405-271-3307 or for more details.  Current provider-level certification and a personal reference will be required for entry into the course.  This course includes the following sections:

  • Online Instructor Essentials (must be completed prior to the "live" course)
  • Approximately 4 Hour Instructor Course
  • First Course Monitoring (Additional Fee* for Off-Campus Instructors)

Course Fee: $275*

Maximum Course Enrollment: 8 candidates

*There is an additional $80 fee for off-campus monitoring.  Mileage will also be charged for courses outside of the metro area.

Online Course Cancellation Policy – Cancellation must be sent via email to  No fees will be charged for cancellation received within 5 business days prior to the skills appointment. If the key has been activated, a charge of $160 will be assessed. It is the Participants responsibility to request another skills date & time.  Participants who re-schedule 3 consecutive courses will be subject to the entire registration fee.  No refunds can be made in the case of a “No Call/No Show”.
