Oklahoma Family Network (OFN):   Parent-to-Parent group for those who are raising children with special health care needs.  Their goal is to match parents and families with other families and parents who have had similar experiences.  OFN gives families the opportunity for support, a shoulder to cry on, or just a listening ear to talk things over. http://www.oklahomafamilynetwork.org/ofn/

SoonerStart: This is Oklahoma's early intervention program designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers at risk for delays or with identified problems associated with developmental delay.  The program is free and qualification is based on the child's needs. Supplemental Security Income (SSI):  This program offers monthly benefits for children with special health needs or disabilities.  If the family has limited income and resources the baby may qualify to receive a monthly check.   www.ssa.gov/notices/supplemental-security-income/

 Infant Crisis Center:  A program that provides emergency diapers, baby clothing and formula.  http://www.infantcrisis.org/

 Women, Infants, and Children (WIC):  A plan that offers supplemental food packages (this includes infant formula) and nutrition education if you have a child under 5 years old.  The caregiver must meet the income guidelines. 1-888-655-2942.

Department of Human Service Programs

•        SoonerCare/Medicaid:  This health insurance program helps pay some or all medical bills for many families who meet the financial eligibility guidelines. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) administers the program and Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) determines eligibility for the program. http://204.87.68.21/medapp/

•        Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF):  Offers a monthly cash payment, food benefits, and Medicaid for unemployed families under special conditions.

 •        Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA): This program allows children with disabilities who would not ordinarily be eligible for benefits because of their parent's income or resources to become eligible for Medicaid.                                   www.okdhs.org/programsandservices/health/tefra/

Developmental Disabilities Services Division

 •        Family Support Assistance Payment: Through this program, families in special income circumstances receive payments from $250 or more, depending on the number of children with developmental disabilities living in the home.

 •        Respite Program:  This program provides funding for respite support to caregivers who need time off from their caregiving responsibilities.
