Dr. Gormley joined the critical care faculty 2004 after residency in Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma and fellowship in PCCM at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas: UT Southwestern.  His interests include cardiac physiology, pulmonary hypertension, and sepsis.  He is acting interim Chief of Pediatric Critical Care.

Dr. Gessouroun joined the critical care faculty in 1990 after residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in PCCM at Children's Medical Center of Dallas: UT Southwestern.  He was instrumental in building the section as it is today.  He was recently named Chairman of Pediatrics.  His interests include respiratory failure and procedural sedation.

Dr. Henry joined the critical care faculty 2007 after residency in Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma and fellowship in PCCM at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas: UT Southwestern.  Her interests include education, postoperative cardiac care, and improving quality outcomes in the PICU. Personal interests include adoption, great movies, and spiritual growth.

Dr. Ranallo joined the critical care faculty 2013 after residency in Pediatrics at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and fellowship in PCCM at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.  Her interests include postoperative cardiac care and enteral nutrition especially in high risk cardiac patients.  She has a certificate degree in Clinical and Translational Science with an interest in respiratory physiology and mechanical ventilation, delirium, and telemedicine. Personal interests include Cutters Cross spices and camping.

Anas-Salkini

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Salkini joined the Cardiac Intensive Care/Cardiology faculty in 2011 after residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in cardiology at The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, cardiac intensive care training at Stanford University, and interventional cardiology at University of California San Diego.  Dr. Salkini has a special interest in post operative cardiac care with his unique dual training in both cardiology and cardiac intensive care.  He also leads the interstage single ventricle program.  Dr. Salkini performs complex interventional heart catheterization procedures on patients with congenital heard diseases.

Dr. Lee joined the critical care faculty 2017 after residency in Pediatrics at Florida State University and fellowship in PCCM at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas: UT Southwestern.  Her clinical interests include extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and trainee education.  Personal interests include rescue greyhounds and small children.

Dr. Akande will be joining the critical care faculty after completing residency in Pediatrics at Texas A&M and fellowship in PCCM at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  She also received her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.  Her interests include research in public health initiatives in underserved communities.
