Curriculum

Years are divided into 13 blocks (28 days per block) that include the following:

Pediatrics Level One (PL-1):

  • 2 blocks Inpatient General Pediatrics Wards (1 week of nights per block)
  • 1 block Inpatient Gastroenterology and Endocrinology (1 week of nights per block)
  • 1 block Inpatient Cardiology & Nephrology
  • 1 block NICU
  • 1 block Newborn Nursery
  • 1 block Emergency Medicine 
  • 2 blocks General Pediatric Outpatient Clinic (Sooner Pediatrics Clinic)
  • 1 block Outpatient Cardiology
  • 1 block Development and Behavioral Pediatrics
  • 1 block Advocacy 
  • 1 block Elective
  • ½ day per week Continuity Clinic

Pediatrics Level Two (PL-2):

  • 1 block Inpatient General Pediatrics Wards
  • 1 block Inpatient Cardiology & Nephrology Wards
  • 1 block OWL (Wards night team)
  • 1 block PICU
  • 1 block NICU
  • 1 block Adolescent Medicine (both inpatient and outpatient experience)
  • 1 block Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Inpatient Team 
  • 1 Block The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital
  • 1 block Emergency Medicine 
  • 4 blocks Electives
  • ½ day per week Continuity Clinic

Pediatrics Level Three (PL-3):

  • 1 block Inpatient General Pediatrics Wards
  • 1 block Inpatient Gastroenterology and Endocrinology
  • 1 block OWL (Wards night team)
  • 1 block PICU
  • 1 block Newborn Nursery
  • 1 block Emergency Medicine
  • 7 blocks Electives/Individualized Curriculum 
  • ½ day per week Continuity Clinic
