Dr. Scheid is a family physician interested in medical decision making and medical informatics.

In his work in the Clinical Decision Making Program, he develops decision analyses for medical problems and studies ways to support decision making by health care providers and patients.

For his work in the clinic with the residents, Dr. Scheid was awarded the 2003 University Family Medicine Clinic Residency Preceptor of the Year Award.

In the late fall of 2016, Dr. Scheid received the OU Medicine Award For Outstanding Patient Service 2015-201​6. Dr. Scheid achieved the top 9​0th percentile nationally in Physician Communication and Overall Doctor Rating from the Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CGCAHPS) survey.

In the late fall of 2017, Dr. Scheid received the OU Medicine Award For Outstanding Patient Service 2016-2017. Dr. Scheid achieved the top 98th percentile nationally in Physician Communication and Overall Doctor Rating from the Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CGCAHPS) survey.
