Botox/Fillers

Botox® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).

BOTOX® injections are nonsurgical procedures that take only minutes to perform. The procedure smoothes deep and persistent lines in the forehead area, between the brow and corners of the mouth, chin and eyes (crows' feet).  It can also be used to lift a brow, referred to as a Chemical/BOTOX® brow lift. Tiny injections relax the muscles and smooth lines. The procedure is fast, simple and requires no recovery time. Normally, it is repeated every three to four months. Repeat use of BOTOX® can help prevent forehead lines and crows' feet from forming.

Fillers

Derma fillers are nonsurgical options for patients who wish to improve the texture, resiliency and shape of the skin negatively affected by a reduction in collagen production due to sun and aging. It is also useful to correct scars and to enhance lips. The filler material is injected in the wrinkled area, which raises it to the level of the surrounding skin.

JUVÉDERM® is an injectable gel made of a sugar which naturally occurs in the body called hyaluronic acid. It is used to correct severe wrinkles and folds. This very smooth filler has low injection pain and produces a soft natural result. Follow-up treatments are normally performed every nine to 12 months.

RADIESSE® is comprised of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite, a natural substance found in the body. When injected, it rebuilds the tissues of the face, reduces folds and creases, as it restores fullness and a more youthful appearance. With intermittent touch ups, the effect lasts about a year, as it slowly dissolves and is replaced with the skin's own collagen. This is a great product to perform a non-surgical mid face lift. By augmenting the cheekbone area, the lower eyelids and cheeks look smoother and more youthful.

Finally, there is something available that treats wrinkles, lines, loose skin and enlarged pores.
This state-of-the art procedure uses an old energy source -- the CO2 laser, in a whole new way. Instead of removing all the surface skin, as in the old technique, a small percentage is removed keeping bridges of healthy skin to allow rapid healing, often in three to five days.

At the same time, the laser energy is delivered deep into the skin where the lines and wrinkles are formed. This achieves noticeable instant tightening, as well as improving skin tone and texture. It also stimulates collagen production so that effects continue to improve over time. It can improve acne scars and traumatic scars. The procedure can be done in the office or the operating room and typically takes around an hour. There will be about three days of swelling and crusting that resolves to leave a light pink glow. This is a great weekend recovery procedure.

Skin

Skin Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is a procedure which "refinishes" the skin's surface by controlled skin scraping. It is designed to give the skin a smoother appearance. Dermabrasion is used to improve the look of scars, including those caused by acne, as well as fine facial wrinkles and precancerous growths. The procedure can be done on the entire face or on small areas.

TCA Peel (Medium Chemical Peel)

A TCA Peel smoothes skin and creates a healthier, youthful appearance. Often referred to as a medium chemical peel, it is recommended for fine wrinkles and surface discoloration, such as age spots or dark circles under the eyes. It will not help with scarring or deep wrinkles. Healing time is about a week and it is the best one step procedure to improve brown spots and freckles as well as treat surface sun damage. A TCA Peel is often recommended for those with olive or light brown skin, since there is a reduced risk of discoloration.

Scar Revision

There are many procedures used to improve the appearance of scars. Dr. Wayne discusses the options with the patient and tailors his recommendations to the individual patient's needs.
