About Genetics

Our geneticists see adults as well as children, and can provide comprehensive evaluations and testing for genetic, familial and congenital disorders, including:

  • Neurofibromatosis
  • Connective tissue disorders
  • Cancer predisposition
  • Neurological conditions
  • Hearing loss
  • Skeletal disorders
  • Syndromes of multiple malformations
  • Inborn errors of metabolism
  • Chromosome abnormalities and birth defects
  • Developmental delay or mental retardation
  • Unexplained pregnancy loss (miscarriage)
  • Family history of specific genetic condition

Our genetic counselors assist individuals and families in understanding the diagnosis, treatment and management of a genetic disorder. When appropriate, they may refer you to a specialist for treatment of a specific condition. They may also direct you to resources, support groups or agencies that can provide emotional and other support.

For an appointment with one of our licensed genetic counselors, call 405-271-4211. Fax referrals to 405-271-1154.

For those who are currently pregnant and at risk for a genetic condition, please visit the
Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists in our Prenatal Diagnostic Center, located on the first level of The Children's Atrium, Suite 1100. To make an appointment call 405-271-5400
