About Our Care

The Breastfeeding Clinic at OU Physicians is here to support you and your family in breastfeeding. The clinic is staffed Monday through Friday by Petra Colindres, MA, RDN/LD, IBCLC, (left) an International Board Certified Lactation

Consultant, with a goal to help create the best start for growing families.

Moms and babies do not have to be patients of OU Medicine to visit the OU Physicians Breastfeeding Clinic.

  • We can help moms and babies with the following issues:
  • Not enough milk
  • Painful nursing
  • Baby not gaining weight
  • Help nursing a premie
  • Babies with special needs
  • Pumping questions
  • Returning to work
  • Planning for breastfeeding during pregnancy
  • Nursing twins or triplets
  • Nursing an adopted baby
  • Introduction of solids
  • Other breastfeeding problems

Most insurance plans are accepted. Contact your insurance carrier for specific coverage details.

The OU Physicians Breastfeeding Clinic is part of the Oklahoma Breastfeeding Resource Center (OBRC), a statewide resource for healthcare providers and organizations working to improve the care of nursing mothers and children.

OBRC operates a 24-hour breastfeeding hotline at (877) 271– MILK (6455).
