Critical Care Medicine

Gozde Demiralp, M.D., is fellowship-trained
to provide intensive care to critically ill
trauma and surgery patients
.

Critical Care training at OU, beginning during the intern year at Baptist Medical Center, consists of one month of transplant ICU and one month at OU in the trauma unit.   The next three years of clinical anesthesia includes one month of PICU or NICU at The Children's Hospital and another month in the trauma ICU as a CA-1.

The University of Oklahoma Medical Center is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the state which provides ample experience to the critically injured in the Trauma ICU.  Dr. Pamela Roberts, trained in Internal Medicine and Critical Care and Dr. Gozde Demiralp, trained in Anesthesia and Critical Care, are two anesthesia faculty members that provide care in the Trauma ICU.   Dr. Roberts received her Critical Care training from Wake Forest University and Dr. Demiralp trained at Vanderbilt University. Both physicians are part of a small but integral physician core that provides care to thousands of severely injured patients each year.
