Babysitting Bootcamp

Becoming a babysitter requires more than just being “good with children.” Babysitters should know basic first aid, have good communication skills, and make sound decisions.Training teens and young adults to be safe, effective babysitters is the goal of Babysitting Bootcamp offered by OU Medical Center Edmond.

This two-day class teaches participants all the basics of getting their babysitting business started, including good communication skills, safety and hygiene, working with infants and young children, decision making under pressure, marketing, and, most importantly, basic first aid and CPR. Both classes offer hands-on experience for participants and are taught by CPR-certified instructors with the American Red Cross.

By the conclusion of the bootcamp, participants will earn their two-year certifications in Infant and Pediatric First Aid/CPR from the American Red Cross. This course is recommended for teens and young adults age 11 and older. The course is approximately 12 hours in length split over two days.
