About the Jimmy Everest Center
for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Children

This very special center is designed to improve the treatment experience for children and families when faced with cancer or a blood disorder.

James "Jimmy" Christopher Everest died in 1992 at the age of 17 after a brave bout with bone cancer. Memorial donations were made to create the Jimmy Everest Center (JEC) in honor of his life.

Staffed by OU Children's Physicians, the Jimmy Everest Center is a child's best resource in providing cancer and blood disorder treatment along with emotional and mental support. The child-friendly center, which serves as a referral center for children throughout Oklahoma and the region, focuses on providing comprehensive care for cancer and blood disorders. The JEC also provides several comprehensive clinics for sickle cell disease, hemophilia, thrombophilia, brain tumors, neurocutaneous syndromes and survivorship.
