About Children's Pulmonology

Our pediatric pulmonologists are experts in the evaluation, care and treatment of children and adolescents with problems related to the lungs and respiratory system. Services to children with asthma include:

  • Complete evaluation

  • Individual asthma education sessions

  • Written asthma treatment and intervention plans

The Pediatric Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Center, a national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation accredited referral center, provides diagnosis, management and comprehensive care for patients with respiratory diseases. The center is the only fully certified cystic fibrosis center in the state. It offers comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for people of any age with cystic fibrosis.

We offer a full spectrum of techniques for evaluating pulmonary dysfunction through our pediatric pulmonary function testing lab. These evaluation techniques include the following:

  • Flexible bronchoscopy

  • Spirometry

  • Exercise testing for exercise-induced respiratory dysfunction

  • Lung volume measurements

  • Diffusion capacity

  • Continuous oximetry

The Pediatric Home Ventilation Support Program of Oklahoma serves the respiratory needs of children from infancy to adolescence. In-depth family education for invasive and non-invasive ventilation allows these children to be cared for in their homes rather than in institutional environments.
