The Children's Hospital Volunteers, Inc. is committed to improving the lives of children in Oklahoma. Support is focused on patients, families and visitors. OU Medical Center Volunteers is focused on a variety of services offering non-clinical support to patients and families. The Child Life Department is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families in need of health care. One focus is support for The Zone, an interactive play and education area inside Children's Hospital. Oklahoma Children's Cancer Association helps children, along with their families, cope with the emotional, physical and financial struggles associated with having cancer. It provides safe and rehabilitative activities for the patients treated at the Jimmy Everest Center including a special toy/game room for treatment areas, art programs, camps, parties, college scholarships for patients, educational materials, and research support. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City benefits children by providing a home-away from-home for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving medical treatment in the Oklahoma City area. Safe Kids of Oklahoma works to prevent the number one killer of children - unintentional injury.  Safe Kids Oklahoma offers programs in the following areas: Child Passenger Safety, Fire Safety, Water Safety, Bike and Child Pedestrian Safety, Home and Toy Safety.
