There are two positions open in the Sun laboratory.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work on a project regarding the molecular basis of hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases under the supervision of Dr. Zhongjie Sun.

                                             POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

Cardiovascular and Renal Physiology

(as advertised in Science)

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available to study molecular basis of hypertension and renal diseases.  Our research team stands in the forefront of hypertension research.  Competitive salary and health insurance coverage for family.  PhD or/and MD.  Prior experience with at least three of the followings is preferred: autophagy, gene therapy, stem cell biology, protein chemistry, epigenetics, signal transduction, molecular biology, renal tubule epithelial cell biology, genomics, proteomics, vascular biology, cardiovascular physiology, or renal physiology. Our laboratories are housed in the state-of-the-art Biomedical Research Building with excellent core facilities.

This Postdoctoral Fellow will receive training in a wide array of genetic, molecular, biochemical, and integrative physiological methods to investigate cardiovascular and renal functions and diseases.  Current areas of research emphasis include 1) molecular mechanism of hypertension, 2) Molecular and stem cell therapy for arterial stiffening and heart diseases, and 3) molecular mechanisms of aging-related renal injury.  Studies are conducted in genetically engineered rodent models.
